Ping Local Interface Not Successful?

Unanswered Question
Jan 13th, 2009

I'm on the local router and CAN NOT ping my serial interface serial5/0 ( I can ping ever other physical interface without issues.

When I do a show ip route for, it says that it's connected to G0/2. It should say directly connected S5/0. I just recently upgrade the code on the router to 12.4, but don't think that's the problem. Attached is the ping results and the router configuration. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have this problem too.

You are learning from ospf and se5/0 is configured with a /24, hence the ospf route via g0/2 being preferred. Change the mask on se5/0 to a /30 and it should solve the issue.
