we are looking at creating a backup solution using a dialup configuration.
We have a 2851 RTR at our central location and 1841's at the 4 remote ends.
I'm pretty sure we can use the AUX port on the 1841 to connect to the external modem.
On the central office side, we want to have one box that the four sites call into. the 2851 has 3 big slots that unused but I don't know if the 2851 is able to do that or if we'll need a new box.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Do you have ISDN in all sites? That would be your best option for backup.

we don't have any thing right now, other than the primary line.

Ask telco for ISDN BRI availability in all sites and if yes, that's one choice. Another one, even better, is an additional broadband in each site and configure a VPN over it.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

we already have a basic phone service to each location so it should be just a matter of getting the right equipment at each office.
i guess my question is what i will need at our central office, where the 4 remotes will call into.
i have a 2851 RTR now and i THINK it should be able to handle a card that has multiple modems.
