Cat3750 - Adding a new stack member

hey all, we have two switches currently in a stack with one as master and other member. we'll be adding a third switch. all are identical models with same ios. the more i read the release notes, the more confused i get! anyway, here's our plan.

config from current switch:

switch 1 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

switch 2 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

new switch, member2, will be powered down and with the default configuration (no config added at all).

1. disconnect cable from "stack 2" master and "stack 1" member1.

2. connect cable from "stack 1" member1 to "stack 2" member 2.

3. connect stack cable from "stack 1" member2 to "stack 2" master

4. power up member2

am i missing anything else?

thanks a lot!

Robert,

It appears that you have the correct procedures. Hopefully this link will also help you understand the process.

I'm going to add the following command on the stack master. Is there anything we have to do on the new switch that will be added? I have left it default.

switch 3 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

That will be fine as long as you are stacking it 3rd in the stack.

switch 1 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

switch 2 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

switch 3 provision ws-c3750g-24ts

HTH,

Mark

I also forgot to note to make sure you have a backup copy of the config.... Just in case.
