Hi every body!

I just want to know when a port places in listening state in rstp.

I was reading about sync operation but it only tells how the port is put in forwarding state once the agreement is received.

thanks a lot!

Hi Sarah,

In that case it directly transitions from discarding to learning. (eg:newly elected RP etc)

I hope thats what you're looking for.

Hi Sarah,

RSTP combines the disabled, blocking and listening states in 802.1D to a state known as discarding.
