Hi experts,
Scenario is that we have 837 router and Cisco 2960 switches in branch office. What I am trying is to divide lan network in two vlans. But 837 doesn't support vlans and 2960 doesn't do inter vlan routing. So is there a way I could setup this and still able to separate lan into two segments. It is not necessary that they should be on different subnets. I want to block communication between these two segments.
Thankss

Hello Muhammad,
you can use the old secondary address option
add to router lan interface
ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y secondary
So you can have hosts in two ip subnets in a single subnet domain.
Hope to help

Thanks for your reply.
If I give a secondary ip will I be able to block traffic between these two segments by ACL or any other method.
