Summary-address Vs Interarea Route

I have a added a static route of /32 pool and redistributing the routes in ospf.

e.g 10.1.1.1/32,10.1.1.2/32 and so on.

After that I afvertise the 10.1.1.0/24 pool in ospf.

On remote end I am getting /32 routes as E2 route and one route as O(10.1.1.0/24). There after advertising the 10.1.1.0/24 with summary-address command. On remote PE I am getting one E2 as /24 route. Now my question is where that /24 route gone which I advertise with the help of network.

Hello Shivlu,

how you managed to get an O or O IA for 10.1.1.0/24 before ?

now you should have only the O or O IA 10.1.1.10/24 installed in the routing table.

the O E2 should just be there to block the /32.

Actually, what you see is strange but it can derive from how you did the first advertisement.

the following may apply to your case

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/iproute/command/reference/irp_osp1.html#wp1013010

discard route command

Hope to help

Giuseppe
