Hi every body!

My cisco press book says if edge port receives a bpdu, it loses its status.

The question is what do we mean by that?

Does it mean the the port transitions into forwarding state?

thanks a lot!

An edge port that receives a BPDU simply reverts to a standard STP port and depending on the configuration of the link ie. full or half duplex this will determine how quickly it can go to the forwarding stage.
