I am getting ready to upgrade all or our WiSM's and the WCS. Currently running 4.2.81 WCS and 4.2.112 WiSM.
My question is, is there a preferred order as to which to upgrade first, the WiSM or the WCS?

Upgrade the WCS first but make sure that the version on the WISM is supported by the code you upgrade WCS to.

Do I need to shut down the WCS application before I start the upgrade? The documentation does not say to shut it down before upgrading.

I would recommend the manual upgrade procedure from the documentation. This will uninstall the application so it will be shut down. The automatic upgrade can be problematic.
