Dial Plan Configuration on CAR (CDR Analysis and Reporting)

Does any one has a sample of the Dial Plan Configuration on CAR. My CDR report seems does not give accurate reports. The Local/LD/International call reports are all 0 calls.

In here we have 4 digit dialing between ext. 7 digit for local and 10 digits for LD. We dial 9 first.

Thank you,

Hi sienz,

ART checks if the number of digits in the directory number is the same

as in an internal

number (default is 5). If so, classify it as On Net.

* If the number of digits in the directory number is 7, then it's

classified as Local.

* If the number of digits in the directory number is 10 and:

* The number has toll free numbers (default is 1800, 1880), then

classify as Others.

* The number has Gateway AreaCode, then classify as Local.

* Something else (since it has neither toll free numbers nor a Gateway

Area Code), classify as Long Distance.

* If the number of digits in the directory number is 11 and:

* The number has toll free numbers (default is 1800,1880), then

classify as Others.

* The number has Gateway AreaCode, then classify as Local.

* Something else (since it has neither toll free numbers nor a Gateway

Area Code), classify as Long Distance.

* If the number of digits in the directory number is less than 3, then

classify as Others.

* If the directory number starts with 011, then classify as

International.

* If none from the above matches, then classify as Others

Depending your Dial plan configuration. The calls that should be the

long distance calls as 912033166663 have 12 digits. There may be no rule

that matches

this so they are classify as Others. Can you change the rule on the Dial

Plan Configuration instead of be = 11 to be = 12.

This rule should match the long distance numbers and classify them

correctly

Gonzalo

Thank you gogasca for the explanation, I am still trying to understand what you wrote.

The CAR generates the report, I just need to tweak the CAR dialplan.

Yes, the LD is 12 digits to include 9 and 1.

Internal is 4 digist. Local is 8 digits and international is more than 8 digits.

I am currently working with TAC but it seems that he is confused too.

Attached is the current CAR dialpan that has been modified from the original CAR by the Cisco TAC

So I modified my CAR dialplan as what I think it is right.

Can someone help me to confirm if I miss anything? We do not dial the area code in our city and we only have 1 area code for the city. I thought I can get rid some rows that has G! pattern

I guess I only need 5 rows:

• Row 1-If the number of digits dialed equals 4 and the pattern is ! (more than one digit, in this case, 4 digits), the call gets classified as OnNet. (For my internal call classification - We dial 4 digits for internal calls)

Condition: = no of Digits: 4 Pattern: ! CallType: On Net

• Row 2-If the number of digits dialed equals 8 and the pattern is ! (more than one digit, in this case, 8 digits), the call gets classified as Local. (We dial 9+xxx+xxxx for local calls)

Condition: = no of Digits: 8 Pattern: ! CallType: Local

• Row 3-If the number of digits dialed equals 12 and the pattern is T! (more than one digit, in this case a 12-digit number that starts with a Toll Free number code), the call gets classified as Others. (We dial 9+18xx+xxx+xxxx)

Condition: = no of Digits: 12 Pattern: T! CallType: Others

Toll Free Numbers: 1800,1855,1866,1877,1888

• Row 4-If the number of digits dialed equals 12 and the pattern is ! (more than one digit, in this case a 10-digit number), the call gets classified as Long Distance. (We dial 9+1+xxx+xxx+xxxx for LD Calls)

Condition: = no of Digits: 12 Pattern: ! CallType: Long Distance

• Row 5-If the number of digits dialed is greater than 12 and starts with 9011, the call gets classified as International

Condition: = no of Digits: 12 Pattern: 9011! CallType: International
