Hi there

My system versions

SPA 400

SPA 9000 6.1.5

SPA 942 6.1.3(a

SPA 922 6.1.3(a)

Just a question on BLF

I try to monitor blf sd & cp using wizard, it works byt what I notice is that if I have same number monitored by more than one phone it is very unreliable.

Example of my setup

ext 101 spa942

ext 100 spa 942

ext 102 spa 941

ext 106 spa941

ext 101 config

line 2 = ext 100 blf sd cp

line 3 = ext 102 blf sd cp

line 4 = ext 106 blf sd cp

ext 100 config

line 2 = ext 101 blf sd cp

line 3 = ext 102 blf sd cp

line 4 = ext 106 blf sd cp

The test I am doing is to rapid fire call other blf keys by pressing one at a time and hanging up. The phones I am trying to call will always ring, but it is very hit or miss as to wether the line key will flash red. In relation to blf, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, and occaisionally it seems to lockup the key IE keeps flashing, and cant use that button. Have to reset the phone to clear this.

Based on what I can see here, this is unusable and does not work properly.

Am I missing somethingn here?

Hi Terry;

Thanks for the details.

Currently an extension can be monitored by one station only (SPA932 or a phone line key). You can use Call Pickup or Speed dial for an extension in many stations, but not BLF. That's the reason of your system's BLF unstable behavior.

Hi, I also have this problem.

I've got four SPA962 with attached SPA932 that all need to monitor each others line status.

My hair has gone gray trying to get this to work and I could not find any information in the SPA932 documentation about this limitation.

The documentation for SPA962 mentions it though, so I thought it was a limitation only for SPA962 that could be remedied with an attached SPA932.

When you say "currently", I take it that this will be fixed in the future?

Is there a roadmap for when this will fixed and when an firmware upgrade will be released?

  • Cisco Employee,

Dear Sir;

This is a design limitation for the SPA9000 (not the phones), there is no short term plans to enhance SPA9000 to support multiple supervisors.

Ok, then it is pretty useless to me :(

Thanks for the info!

By the way, that's a strange design limitation (just my opinion, of course). :)
