IP SLA responder not responding

Unanswered Question
Jan 23rd, 2009

I have several hundred routers in my environment that we are utilizing ssh2 but I cannot get them to respond to the source router's query. Other routers that we are using telnet are responding.

I am just learning about IP sla so am looking to learn some 101 on the way to troubleshooting this as well...

I have this problem too.

Need more info such as:

Here's some sample SLA configuration that I did up in the lab:

Sending side:

ip sla monitor 3

type jitter dest-ipaddr 172.16.1.2 dest-port 16384 codec g711ulaw codec-numpackets 30

tos 184

frequency 10

ip sla monitor schedule 3 start-time now

ip sla monitor 4

type jitter dest-ipaddr 172.16.35.5 dest-port 16386 codec g711ulaw codec-numpackets 20

tos 184

frequency 5

ip sla monitor schedule 4 start-time now

Receiving side:

ip sla monitor responder

R3#sh ip sla moni stat

For ICMP you shouldn't need to enable ip sla responder, but for other packets like UDP, RTP, you will. Also ensure that the two routers share the same NTP source and that they are both sync'd.
