SQL intervention in UCCX 7

Our customer is actively trying to mess with UCCX SQL server by putting his databases that with use for IVR in a separate instance on the server.

Does anyone know of documentation or info about Cisco's official recommendations on messing with SQL.

I know it is pretty intuitive, but we need some proof for the customer.

I have this problem too.

If you deploy Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Unified CCX) 7.0(1) without high availability, you may optionally use MS SQL Server 2000. If you deploy Cisco Unified CCX 7.0(1) with high availability, you must use MS SQL Server 2000.

The databases on the UCCX server should not be touched, period. If the customer has full SQL Server 2000 installed (this requires the Cisco-customized SKU/disc), they can optionally replicate the databases off-box and manipulate the replicated data as needed.

Modifying the databases on-box may break the system entirely or at a minimum prevent a future patch from applying correctly. They will also jump off of the TAC-unsupported cliff by doing this.

Lastly, keep in mind that CCX will be moving to a Linux appliance model in 8.0, and presumably begin using Informix at that point. Messing with the databases will likely break their upgrade path when the CCX version of the DMA tool is released next year.
