how do we configure router or L3 switch to behave as dhcp relay agent?

Hi
When u configure ip helper-address (dhcp server ip) under the specific SVI its going to act as relay agent..do mean this or u want the router or the switch to be act as a dhcp server.

The term Relay Agent usually implies IPv6.
Before we jump into IPv6 details, could you confirm IPv4 or IPv6.

please note that when setting the dhcp relay, dhcp request are tagged with the SVI ip network/subnet, so you have to set an according configuration (i.e. dhcp scope) on the server.
e.g. if svi receiving and forwarding the dhcp request has ip address 192.168.1.1/24, you must set a dhcp scope for network 192.168.1.0/24 on the server.
