Hi, have a customer is migrating from CUCM5.1 to 6.1, using new Hardware. The plan is to build the new Cluster on new hardware and then migrate a site across a week.

Just discovered that they plan on using the same Voice VLAN on their core switches where the CUCM's will be connected. Would this not cause problems?

TIA.

As long as the new servers will utilize new hostnames and IP addresses you will not have any issues. Otherwise you will create a confilict.

Hi Chris, thanks for the reply and clarification. I just wanted to be doubly sure before we plowed ahead.

dez,
the other thing is that if both clusters do reside on the same VLAN then how the phones connect will depend on the information withing the DHCP scope, when you are ready to change clusters just change option 150 to the new cluster
Thanks

Actually, a better option may be to enable centrelized TFTP between the 2 clusters.
