Hi Guys,

Simple Q, we have an 1800 used for the WAN router connected to a stack of 3750s. We want to use WCCP for WAN acceleration, but both the ethernet ports on the 1800 are used.

It is a routed link NOT .1q from the 3750 to the 1800. Can WCCP work over routed links?

Or could we use the 3750 for WCCP?

You can use wccp on the 1800 and have the WAE utilize "WCCP negotiated return" to avoid re-interception of the egress traffic. This would probably be the most common installation scenario. You can also run WCCP on the 3750 with the more recent IOS codes (there have been a few posts on how to do this already).
Both will work, however most people will target the software based router.

Thanks Dan,
I'll read up on WCCP negotiated return, 3750s arent even installed yet so IOS should be the latest.
Cheers

On 3750s, I recommend looking at something around 12.2(46)SE or later...
Good luck.
