4900M. Configuration 1GE (RJ45) + 1GE (twingig SFP)

hi, please advice

i need to configure 4900M switch with combination WS-X4920-GB-RJ45 + WS-X4908-10GE cards and i need to use 2x10GE onboard port + 15x1GE copper ports + 6x1GE SFP optic ports (via 3 twingig converters plug into X4908-10GE card).

Do you think it would work or not?

i can't find information about it. Data sheet contains some variety configurations but does not have configuration when it is required to use 1GE (RJ45) on one card couple with 1GE (SFP) on X4908-10GE card + twingig.

thanks in advance

Hello Andrey,

configuration has to be done on groups of ports that share the same asic

Switch(config)# hw-module module m port-group p

select [gigabitethernet | tengigabitethernet]

see

http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/46sg/configuration/guide/sw_int.html#wp1077316')">http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/46sg/configuration/guide/sw_int.html#wp1077316

it explains also how to see port group mappings

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Yes, it's possible. I don't think Table 2 in data sheet gives all options.

thanks so much.

one more question:

when i order chassis 4900M with WS-X4908-10GE card, does it include 8 twingig converters (CVR-X2-SFP) or i need to reorder it for special (not zero) price?

the previous question is not actual. Thanks to everybody

Just let you know. If you want to check your hardware configuration. You can use the "Dynamic configuration tool".

https://apps.cisco.com/qtc/config/jsp/configureHome.jsp

For your above question, this tool will tell you know if "converter" is included or not.
