I am thinking of using Catalyst 3750 switches (running IP Services image) for peering with Service Provider PE routers.

Are there any disadvantages /limitations in using Catalyst 3750 switches for this purpose over Cisco router platform?

Hello Gurmakh,

the C3750 is fine if you are going to receive a moderate amount of BGP routes up to few thousands (enteprise use)

the C3750 will not be able to perform some routers functions like NAT.

besides this it should be fine for acting as CE router for an enteprise site

Hope to help
