Is the WAAS flash a field replaceable unit? I have a corrupt flash out in one of my remote offices that needs to be replaced. The model is a WAE-612. Thanks

I don't believe it is a FRU. However I would attempt to use a recovery CD to "Manufacture Flash", "Install Flash Cookie" and then "Install Flash Image" see if that resolves your issues before attempting to RMA the unit.

If that doesn't work, then you will probably have to RMA the box or see if they will ship a flash card.

Dan

FYI: The Recovery CD iso is downloadable from Cisco.com if you don't have one that came with the unit.

Yes, I have tried the recovery CD but no luck. The server displays this output.

RMA looks like the only choice. Thanks for your help Dan.

Did you try option 2 and then 3 first?

They would be last ditch efforts before TAC.

Dan

Yes, 2, then 3, then 5, and finally 7 with no luck.

You are correct, it sounds like a bad card or not completely inserted into the reader. You might want to try and make sure it's firmly seated.

Good luck,

Dan
