Hi, I am trying to upgrade from ccm 6 to 7. I put the ccm DVD 'upgrade from 6 to 7' in the DVD drive..
I then go to os administration page software upgrades and choose 'dvd/cd option. In the directory field, I put a / or a \ and when i click next i get the following error
"upgrade candidates found in patch directory are not allowed by the curren version"
Has anyone come across this error before? HAs anyone upgraded from 6 to 7 and had similar problems..
Thanks,
Derek

Hi Derek,
You are not going to like this answer, but, you cannot upgrade from CUCM 6.1(3)to CUCM 7.x at this point in time. Cisco should put this type of note in HUGE RED letters;
Release Notes for Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.1(3)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Updated January 6, 2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Caution: Be aware that you can not upgrade directly from Unified CM 6.1(3) to Unified CM 7.0

Hope this helps! Sorry my friend,

Hi Rob,
Thanks for the update
Can I revert back to 612 sr1002(this is on my inactive Partition) and upgrade direct from there?
If so, will i lose all my configuration?
Thanks,
Derek

Hi Derek,
I would truly engage TAC on this one. I have seen a number of posts where people ran into issues with this "downgrade" process prior to the CUCM 7.x upgrade :)
