Presence for non-IPT users

We have a 6.1.3 CUCM cluster used by 1000+ users.

In our organisation we have around 3000 users, so 2000 are not running IPT. What functionality can Presence 7.0 offer for these 2000 users, even though I cannot have an line associated to these users, Is there any point in providing them with unified personal communicator?

it depends on what do you mean by "non-IPT".

CUPS pulls users from CUCM end user table. Those end users may not have a phone associated. But you may enable CUPC features for them. So they can send Instant Message, can get calendar status, etc.
