2801 router loses a command line after reboot

Have you ever seen where a Cisco router "lose a command line and then will not accept a command line?

First of all, before rebooting a 2801 RTR I wrote the config and then rebooted the router.

After the reboot we started having incoming email issues. I checked the config and somehow it “lost” a line in the config.

So I put the line back in and wrote the config, again. Usually if a RTR doesn't like a command line it'll say something. but the rtr didn't say anything.

I then did a "sh run" and the line was gone!

Thoughts?

What command are you typing/pasting?

i tried both ways....

i copied the line from a backup.

and i typed it in manually.

the line i'm trying to get into the RTR is:

ip nat inside source static tcp 10.30.47.5 25 66.140.170.131 25 extendable

Do you see it when you do "sh ip nat translation" ?

pages and pages of NAT translations.

which tells me it's working but why can't i see that line in the config?
