We are going to be upgrading our CUCM to version 7.x at some point in the very near future. I read that we have to be running 8.4.x firmware on the phones. I have downloaded 8.4.3 and I want to test it on a couple of phones before pushing it out to all of them. Can this be done?
Sure it can, download the service pack containing firmware file you are planning on using after the upgrade, install the service pack and it will change the device defaults to the firmware file included in it, then restart tftp server and all phones should download and install the firmware.
