managing switches via http

Hi all, is it possible to manage most new switches, 2975, 3560 etc via http? and also is it possible to graph statistics using the http etc ?

Yes - add the "IP HTTP Server" command.

Configure a username and password with level 15 "OR" at the http page authentication just put in the Priv Exec password with a blank username field and this will also let you in.

Older switches require older versions of Java and the 3750's are best for graphs and stats.

what can we configure in the GUI? can we get graphs of port stats etc for say the 2960's etc ?

You can configure, for example, port vlan membership, port speed, duplex speed. You also have the option to enable the macros on a switch.

Port stats on the HTTP is also possible.

If you have softwares like Spectrum or HP OpenView, for example, it can pull the port stats using SNMP.
