Is there any documentation that compares the 1841 to the 2811 giving advantages and disadvantages?

See attached performances. Obviously the 1841 has limited expansion capabilities and no voice support at all.

Thanks, Anybody have any performance reports on the 1841?

It's in the document above. Note there is 2801 model between 1841 and 2811 so I don't know how you are forming your selection but missing a very popular choice.

We're comparing the 2 and trying to decide if the 2800's expansion module is worth the additional cost that we would incur. The 2801 doesn't have that large slot.

Correct, but possibly you can do things on the 2801 that aren't possible on the 1841, like voip, higher density interfaces, etc.

One issue I've found with a 2801 vs. 2811, the 2801 doesn't, I believe, support Etherchannel. Most wouldn't care, but I was surprised when I bumped into this.

Well the thing is that 2 x FE is already a bit too much for a 2801 so I think it makes sense performance-wise. On the other hand I suppose with an switch HWIC you could do that anyway.

Yeah, it's looking like it's going to be the 2811 with it's expansion module or the 1841. The 2801 is just slightly better than the 1841 or 61 so we would probably go with those 2 options first. It's looking like the 2811 is in front at the moment.

Does anybody have any listings for mean time to failure of the 1841 and 2811??

I've posted the Meat Time Before Failure (MTBF) for the 2800 into your other post.
