Hi All,

We have a 10G DWDM circuit terminated on 7600-sup720-3bxl (WS-X6704-10GE,10GBASE-SR) interface and we get below optical receive power measured on the router

sh interfaces tenGigabitEthernet 9/2 transceiver (o/p modified for simplicity)

Optical

Rx Power

Port (dBm)

------- --------

Te9/2 -2.6

We are trying to understand, what would be the cisco recommended optical rx power levels. Any help on this would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Regards

Per the following data sheet, the XENPAK-10GB-SR module has a receiver range of -1.0 (max) to -9.9 (min). Your -2.6 dBm input would fall within the range.

What transmit equipment (specs) is connected to this receiver port? Might you have a optical power meter handy to verify the router's reading (I can dream)?

Have you checked the Cisco 10GBase DWDM XENPAK Modules Data Sheet?

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/ps6576/product_data_sheet0900aecd801f9333.html

Hope this helps.

Hi leolaohoo,

Thanks for the reply. We using a non-colured XENPAK and no wavelength mapping upto the router. Do you have a link where there is a data sheet for normal xenpak terminating 10gig interface on 10Gbase-SR interface type.

Thanks once again
