In rommon, try 'sync' and copy the image again using tftpdnld. If still fail,it's HW fault and you need to return the unit via RMA.

I tried sync, and i used different CF with a new image, but same symptoms. Does it mean HW issue :(

Do you still have the nv errors at boot? Can you use tftpdnd to copy the image ?

My issue is that I'm not getting any single error/warning during bootup. It reach a level just before prompt & hang there. Previously, I have attached the level I'm reaching with bootup.

I tired tftpdnd before but I was getting illegal MAC Address. That's why I tried different CF to avoid image corruption.

In the first message you posted, there are nv errors during boot. I was asking if you still had these.

The illegal MAC points to something very wrong. Possibly, you should be able to get more information from rommon.

All in all, unless you want to spend more time troubleshooting this, I would have the unit replaced.

Thx, I'll go for RMA

Weird. It seems, in my guess, someone tried unsuccessfully to upgrade the bootstrap.

Where did you get the router? Bootstrap version 12.4(13r)T8 and T9 are not available. The "latest" is 12.4(13r)T5 (release date 06/Oct/2008).

I recommend you try to "downgrade" the bootstrap and see if this works.

Hope this solves your problem.

Hmmm... it could be that it shipped like that from factory although rommon is not released yet on CCO.

Perhaps they introduced a newer HW revision.

Hi Paolo,

Hope I'm wrong. 6 months ago we took delivery of two ASR 1002 and both came with IOS that were NOT to be released to the general public. And I've about bootlegged audio files shipped out on official Cisco CD's.
