Phone system suggestion

Hi all,

I need a solution for a client that is running a lot of OLD PBX systems.

They currently have Cisco 3845 as their voice gateway/CCME which also connects to other PBXs using an E1 Trunk.

Now they need to replace the PBX's and they require analog handsets. Easy solution will be to use Cisco VG248 or VG224, but the problem is they need around 800 Handsets and these Cisco VG's are Expensive.

Can anyone suggest alternative solutions that will support 800 handsets and that support IP based Trunks which can easily be integrated with the current CCME router?

Thanks heaps.

Nour

Hi Nour,

You may need to start thinking about deploying CUCM. 800 phones is too large of a number to run on a single CME. It's possible to split it up between 3 CMEs and trunk between them, but it wouldn't be the most appropriate design for this.

CUMBE or CUCM with VG248s is probably your best choice.
