HSRP standby track command

Hello,

I have 2 WAN routers with dual WAN links and 2 access switches on site.

I have HSRP enabled on Vlan 1 and standby track command enabled as well.

Can I know how did the HSRP priority value affect the spanning tree switching decision? For example, if the primary hsrp link failed.

Is there any issue that I need to beware of when using "standby 1 track" command?

Work-around Mechanism:

Configure the switch with the set spantree portfast enable, which allows the switch to bypass the spantree states and go straight into the Forwarding state.

Are you saying that to turn on the spanning tress portfast on the access switch uplink port?

HI Chris,

Configure "set spantree portfast enable" on the switchports.

You can enable on a global basis, which affects all ports that have PortFast configured.

The HSRP in no way affect the spanning tree decision. Also please note that you do not need to do anything on the spanning-tree, alhough sometimes the traffic might flow thorugh a longer path (i mean the number of switched the traffic flows through)
