I assume you're talking about Campus Manager. Campus Manager treats stacks as one device, so if one member was done, you shouldn't have noticed any difference on the map.
However, if this was a cluster, simply removing a node doesn't delete it from the Topology Map. Right-click on the node that was removed, and select Delete Device.
