Routing prefrence. Static or VPN?

Unanswered Question

I'm sure this will be a simple question to answer, but which takes preference, a static route or a VPN ?. I have had issues as of late trying to route back through my network without killing the 4 connected vpns on a networks. If i do a work around and don't overlap the VPN it works fine.

Does anyone know any other way i can have a route without killing my vpns by overlapping ?

I have this problem too.

the answer is:

"Longest match wins."

I.e., it should be no problem on a Cisco router to route to one next-hop A and to another next-hop B.

As longest match wins, everything should work fine, the whole would be routerd to B with the exception of routed to A.

I've met some non-Cisco devices which did not accept this rule, but never had a problem with this on Cisco.
