Is there anyway in the CUCM 6.1 to block inbound phone numbers? The receptionist is answering many unwanted phone number and they are requesting us to block those numbers.
If this is not an option in CUCM 6.1, is there other solution, such as in the gateway?
Thanks

Hello,
If the calls you want to block are coming in through an H.323 gateway, then this would be possible using translation rules. If you are using an MGCP gateway, then CUCM has no way to screen calls based on calling party number.
Hope that helped, if so please rate.

Hi,
It is coming in through an H.323 gateway. Is there any instruction somewhere?

Try this configuration:
config t
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 reject /number you want to block/
rule 2 reject /number you want to block/
etc, etc
voice translation-profile BLOCK
translate calling 1
voice-port x/x/x:23 (assuming you have PRI)
translation-profile incoming BLOCK
Hope that helped, if so please rate.

Thank you,
is there a way if we can do it in the CUCM not in the gateway?

Unfortunately no, this must be done in the gateway itself.
