If we set the authentication failures to create a log entry, is there a way to only allow those log messages to be sent via the “snmp-server enable traps syslog†command?
We really don't want traps sent for all syslog messages.
This is not possible. Any syslog message which matches the logging trap severity will be sent as a trap. You can use the Embedded Syslog Manager feature in certain versions of IOS to filter syslog messages, but this does not work for traps.
