Hi
Can any one suggest me how resolve the problem of Mac-address flapping ,as per the scenerio is concern My Switch (SW1 and SW2 ) are conncted to Customers switches (Cusw1 sand Cusw2) ,now My Sw1 having inbuilt Mac-address is reflecting in other 2 ports of Cutomer Switches .
Reflecting the error :- Feb 23 09:59:00.714 IST: %C4K_EBM-4-HOSTFLAPPING: Host 00:11:92:83:B6:00 in vlan 9 is flapping between port Gi7/12 and port Gi7/48"

This sounds like it could either be a spanning tree issue or ports are flapping cause spanning tree to re-converge (possible downstream from your kit).
If you have no link up down errors on your kit I would ask your customer to check there's for any errors.
This MAC address is a cisco (MAC 001192 belongs to cisco), so I suspect this is the bridge ID of one of those switches.

Hi Anabhuti
Gi7/12 and port Gi7/48 are trunks right? could you paste there config please.
03-01-2009 06:19 AM
Hi Adam,
AS the configuration is at the csutomer end, and as per the security norms we cant provide u the whole config, but the those ports are trunk ports?
Regards,
Anubhuti

This is what I have seen in the past, the same MAC address is appearing on two devices.
Usually a customer has a programmable chip which has duplicate MAC address to re-write them on a network interface.
