LMS 3.1 - Optimizing Database-Settings (dbsrv10)

parsing thru /opt/CSCOpx/objects/dmgt/dmgtd.conf I discovered several Sybase-DB settings (especially -c Option -> internal Cache-Size) being on the low end for performance.

E.g. several settings only provide 16MB of cache size to DBs.

Are there any DB-config-suggestions for large networks >1000 devices?

How can this settings be optimized for CW2000?

Thanks for sharing your experiences

It is not recommended to change these options. That is, we do not have any better recommendations. In fact, we have seen cases in the past where modifying them can lead to crashes.

If you want to increase performance for RME, for example, we do ship a performance tuning tool which comes with an enhanced profile for servers with more than 4 GB of RAM and with two or more CPUs. Run /opt/CSCOpx/bin/rmept/rmeptt.sh -help to see the usage for this tool. To enable the performance tuned profile, run:

/opt/CSCOpx/bin/rmept/rmeptt.sh -apply perftune_Solaris

You can also look at /opt/CSCOpx/bin/rmept/perftune_Solaris.xml for ideas on what can be tweaked to provide better performance.
