Hey...
I've got a SupIV that wont boot the image. Config register is 0x2102.
From ROMMON, I can give the boot command with image name, and that gets me to IOS.
The BOOT variable, as displayed by "set" in ROMmon, is the correct filename for the image in bootflash:.
There's only one image in flash.
It makes no difference whether or not I configure boot system flash in startup-config.
I ran the verify command on the image file, and it verified.
The message is "Could not find a valid file in BOOT environment variable"
Anyone know of anything else I can do to get this switch to boot the image?

Try changing the config register to 0x2101 , this will allow it to boot the first image it finds in flash without a boot statement. Whats the exact boot statement you are currently trying to use. ? Should be like this
boot system flash bootflash:cat4000-i9k91s-mz.122-25.ewa4.bin

What is the complete model number of your Sup card and what is the image filename? Is it a compact flash?

WS-X4515
cat4000-i5k91s-mz.122-25.EWA3.bin
bootflash, not compact flash, as in:
Switch#dir
Directory of bootflash:/

Hi Glen,
OK, I'm now good.
0x2102 booted to IOS.
And my boot command was missing the device designation (i.e., bootflash:)
And, once I fixed the boot command, it now boots to IOS with config reg at 0x2102.
Thanks!
