I am installing a CCME on a 2821 router. I have 2 7940 phones which will not accept the dhcp load. Though they are registered in the DHCP database, they will not recognize the address and never update their network configuration. Another 7960 phone plugged into the same port registers fine. I have reset both 7940's to factory defaults what do I check next?

Hi, did you tri to configre an satic ip, mask, default gateway and TFTP on your phone?

Also you can verify that your dhcp pool has enough ip address available for all your ip phones.

Hope this help

David

Thanks for the reply, David. Yes, I tried putting a static IP stack on the phones but without results.

Actually I reviewed the boot process and found that the phones were not pulling in Configuration files. I added the command "create cnf-files" and the phones booted.
