I am trying to connect a wireless phone 7921, I carry out the configuration in call manager 4.1 as such as i do with the other phones.

Through DHCP, the phone gets IP, i can make ping from the server of Call Manager.

The phone shows these messages:

Firmware update

Firmware update fail

Registration Rejected

What i can do?

Hi Pedro,

The most common reason for this registeration rejected is that you have run off all the pool of numbers that is used for auto registeration

So you can increase this pool

or delete unassigned numbers from the route plan report

Hi!

What's the exact CCM version?

Are you using auto-registration or not?

It seems you are missing the latest Device Pack on your server. Please download it and install it.

You can get it from:

Voice and Unified Communications > Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.1 > Unified Communications Manager/CallManager Device Packages

http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/Redirect.x?mdfid=278875240

Hope this helps!

Hi teresa,

In this moment i don't have access to call manager, is 4.0 or 4.1, but when i add the phone in call manager i only see 7920 and i put it thinking that is 7920 series.

I think that the problem is to update the device pack, as you say.

This update is simple, has any inconvenient?

Not that I know of. I have seen some cases in which the device pack fixes the issue.

HTH!

Hi experts,

I have two servers 4.1(3)sr3c, working in cluster,I install the executable: cmterm-7921-sccp.1-3-2.exe, as said the link http://www.cisco.com/web/software/2820742 89/23577/cmterm-7921-sccp.1-3-2- Readme.html.

I Place the file in the directory tftp, and when i executed the software, appear the following files:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\TFTPPath

WLAN-1.3.2.SBN 1,320 kb

TNUXR-1.3.2.SBN 2,153 kb

TNUX-1.3.2.SBN 876 kb

SYS-1.3.2.SBN 2,035 kb

GUI-1.3.2.SBN 1,796 kb

CP7921G-1.3.2.LOADS 1 kb

APPS-1.3.2.SBN 2,602 kb

When i looking at Device Settings > Device Defaults, the firmware of phone 7921, does not appear in load Information.

I run the file in the main server, i have not done in the secondary server.

Is normal the size of the file CP7921G- 1.3.2.LOADS?

Do I have to install the software in the two servers, for that the phone 7921 appear in device defaults?

Should i restart the service cisco tftp server, in the tow servers, for that the phone 7921 appear in device defaults?

Should i restart the servers , for that the phone 7921 appear in device defaults?

Hi,

Any answer?

Hi Pedro,

To add support for the 7921 in CCM 4.1(3) and have it available in the Device Defaults, you will need to install one of these Device Packs;

You can use Cisco Unified CallManager Device Package 4.1(65.0) or 4.1(78.0) with any 4.1(3) version above 4.1(3)sr1. This will add support for the 7906 as well as the 7921;

Here are the two ReadMe docs;

http://www.cisco.com/web/software/Voice/html/ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-65.readme.html#_Toc185233550

http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074299/21541/ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-78_readme.html#_Toc185233550

Go to;

Tools & Resources

Downloads

Voice and Unified Communications > Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.1 > Unified Communications Manager/CallManager Device Packages > 4.1(65) > ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-65.exe

Or;

Voice and Unified Communications > Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.1 > Unified Communications Manager/CallManager Device Packages > 4.1(78) > ciscocm.4-1-DevPack-78.exe

Hope this helps!

Rob
