I am using VPN Client 5.0 on a Windows 2003 Terminal Server. The VPN client and connection seem to be working OK. However we cannot actually use the client because when we connect to the VPN server the policy applied to us prevents local users from connecting to the terminal server running the VPN client. The masters of the VPN server refuse to modify the policy for split-tunneling which would fix our problem. My idea is to install a 2nd NIC in the terminal server and bind the Deterministic Network component only to the second NIC. My hope is that the changes pushed down to the terminal server will only affect this 2nd NIC and that other users of the box will be able to continue to work normally while connected to the first NIC. Will this work? Is there a better solution?
