Depends on what you are trying to do. How many connections are you using to the ISP. If there is only one connection then there is no need for IBGP and you can just run IGP internally.


Actually if there is only one connection you often don't need EBGP either but that wasn't your question.


If you have multiple connections and you want some traffic to go out of one connection and other traffic out of the other etc.. then yes you may well want to use IBGP.
