Set dialer in a Cisco 2800 Series

Hello Folks,

we have a problem when i try to set a dialer connection in a Cisco 2800, series.

When i set the type of encapsulation in the interface bri it appears this message:

"Encapsulation not allowed on voice only interface", what does it mean?, i imagine that it's not neccesary to set the type of encapsulation into interface bri , isn't it?. Also, i can't set the dialer pool-member.

i forgot, the ios is Version 12.4(13r)T.

Hi there,

You might have put the card into a voice slot. Try moving the WIC to slot 2 as I think slot 0 is only used for voice interface cards. Slots 1 and 3 are HWIC slots, slot 0 is the VWIC slot and slot 2 is the VIC/WIC/VWIC slot.
