Specifically, is the MGBSX1 (Gigabit SX Mini-GBIC SFP Transceiver) compatible with WS-C2960G-24TC-L???

I think WS-C2960G-24TC-LMGBSX1 is not compatible with MGBSX1.

Stick it into the appliance and find out. This is a very difficult question particularly when Cisco purchased Linksys.

I can understand why Cisco will DENY the Linksys branded SFP to be inserted and I do not find any documents to say that it won't be supported.
