WIC-1T= card on 2801- Carrier bandwidth in UK

Hi All,

One of our UK office has 2Meg ISP line terminating on Cisco2801 rtr with WIC-1T= installed. The 'Show inter ser 0/12/0' o/p showing it as T1 BW..does that sound correct..?


Serial0/2/0 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is GT96K Serial

Description: :ISP_2Meg CKT

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1544 Kbit,

DLY 20000 usec, reliability 255/255,

Available Bandwidth 1158 kilobits/sec

hi fortis

the BW parameter does not indicate the real line speed. it is used by some dynamic routing protocols to calculate the best route. its value could be changed under the interface configuration section.

show controller Serial0/2/0 may give you the real line speed.
