Hi
I have a 3550 switch which is connected to Novel server.
I have enabled brigding for all the L3 vlan on the switch and have connected the laptop directly to the 3550 switch
but i am not able to access the server.
Am i doing ant thing wrong ant thing extra need to be configured.
L3-48-Port(config)#bridge 1 protocol vlan-bridge
L3-48-Port(config)#int vlan 10
L3-48-Port(config-if)#bridge-group 10
L3-48-Port#show bridge group

Hello Chao,
if the server is connected to a port associated to another Vlan
you need to add
int vlan x
bridge-group 10
see
if all ports are in vlan 10 it should work (simple L2 LAN switching)even without configuring the inter-vlan bridge.
there is no chapter about ipx so fallback bridging is the right tool

Hi Giuseppe,
Thanks for the reply.
I should be able to access the server from all the vlan so the brigde group is applied to all the SVI interface and all are in same bride group.
As i have said i am not able to access the server when i connect the laptop to the switch in the same vlan.

Hello Chao,
on the same switch same vlan you should be able to reach the server using the IPX suite.
