Can anyone tell me if the 3750G will support a 10GbE connection. The spec sheet does not call out the IEEE 802.3ae standard for 10GbE, however the connector section in the spec sheet lists a 10GbE connector as an option
As Mark correctly notes, the only 3750 model that provided 10 gig was the EOL 3750G-16TD (NB: its ASIC only supported 8 Gbps throughput on the 10 gig port). The later 3750-E (or 3650-E) provides dual module slots that support 10 gig ports (or twin-gig, both one per module slot). Note, it's possible to mix the 3750 series, including 3750Gs, with 3750-E in the same stack. (NB: mixing 3750-Es with 3750s negates some of the performance improvements of the -E series, although it does provide 10 gig links to a 3750 stack.)
The 3750G does not support 10GbE. The 3750E series will support 2 X2 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks. Please see the datasheet link below.
Edit: The Cisco Catalyst 3750G-16TD does support 1 10 Gigabit Ethernet XENPAK port. This particular model is End of Life.
