Turn ON digital optical monitoring (DoM)

How to turn on this feature? Chassis supports it (3750). Transceiver supports it, as Digital Optical Monitoring Compatibility Matrix said (GLC-ZX-SM). But "sh inter gi1/0/25 transceiver detail" show me "Diagnostic Monitoring is not implemented." message. What I should do to implement collecting DOM info?

And second. Is 6500 with IOS supports this feature? CatOS supports, as Cisco site said. But IOS (now we have 12.2(18)SXF line) shows me message "Diagnostic Monitoring Data is not available." (also GLC-ZX-SM)

Does your IOS software support the feature? I found in release notes that for 3750, DOM is supported starting in 12.2(44)SE.

Yes, it's 12.2(46)SE. However, in another Cisco page I found that GLC-ZX-SM has NOT DOM support. So it's contradiction.

It's SXF line, not SXI.

It looks like the "supported-list" sub-command appeared in the SXH line. Anyway, from my output it appears DOM is not supported at all with the ZX SFP tranceiver :

You need to get the Rugged-ized GLC-SFP (1Gig) to have DOM enabled.

In layman's terms it depends on SFP whether DOM or Diagnostic Monitioring will be implemented or available... I also believe which IOS you are on matters also but don't hold me to that...

your SFP's need to have the DOM

exemple:

GLC-SX-MM is without DOM

GLC-SX-MMD with DOM

for your GLC-ZX-SM, you need the GLC-ZX-SM-RGD SFP's.
