I have two 6500's connected by a 8 link etherchannel. The links between the two 6500's are a /30 network on vlan 100 and I am also passing vlan 1 over the link via "switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,100" on each of the link interfaces and the port-channel interface.
I need to add vlan 4 to pass across this link, obviously "switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,4,100" But I dont know what the order of operation should be. Do I add it on the port-channel first? and the interfaces second?
Also, will adding this vlan disrupt any of the current vlan 1 or 100 traffic? I dont think it will but honestly i'm not 100% sure.
thanks.

Hi
You just need to add the VLAN to the port channel and all the members of the Port channel will be updated.
Also, just use the command
switchport trunk allowed vlan add 4
this will add the VLAN to the Port-channel.
You will not affect/disrupt any other vlans on the trunk
