layer 3 switch question

Hi all,

I seem to recall, in this forum a little while ago a topic that I think was about the capability to change the cpu percentages and/or queues on a layer 3 switch or something..??

If memory serves, this capability is in a layer 3 switch and can be changed if the switch was only going to be used as a layer 2 device..

Does anyone remember that or am I dreaming?

I'm hoping someone can jog my memory, or even better still, post a link to a document about it.

Thanking you in advance!!

Brad

Hi,

Are you refering to the SDM templates? On some of the smaller switches (ie 3750, 3560) you can apply a template.

This allocates more system resources towards layer 2 or layer 3 operations depending on what you're using your switch for

Just search for "SDM templates" on cisco.com or chesk this

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3560/software/release/12.2_20_se/configuration/guide/swsdm.html
