DMVPN using 2811 as hub

Hi

i am wondering if i could use a 2811 with security IOS to create a dmvpn hub... any info?

Hello,

it should be fine with advanced enterprise image.

I've configured a c3745 as hub some years ago

Of course the max number of remote sites supported is not high.

I think it can be fine with up to 20 spokes.

2811 will work, but the number of sites and the bandwidth you are pushing through it will not be very high... CPU Utilization and the limitations of the crypto engine (both onboard and AIM-VPN/SSL-2) will restrict the bandwidth for your DMVPN before packets start being dropped and the headend router CPU utilization spikes to 90% +

hello

actually i have 19 remote sites. when i checked the datasheet of 2811 it says it can support upto 200 simultanious vpn connection with the onboad vpn.

Hello,

as Sam has correctly noted also the traffic volume plays a role here.

20 remote sites is a reasonable guess for 2811.
