Does anyone know if we are doing a weekly backup to the /var directory, when it is done, can you move the backup to another server.

Correct Answer by Joe Clarke about 8 years 2 months ago

Yes, this is not only possible, but recommended. It is a good idea to keep backups on long-term media for disaster recovery.

You can transfer the numbered directories anyway you want.

Do you mean a backup within CiscoWorks?

Yes. We created a directory called CW_Backup under /var/adm directory. The backups are completing successfully but we would like to move the backup directory (0, plus everything under it) to another server for archival purposes.
