FCIP Options

For a lab environment, what are the inexpensive FCIP options available? My understanding is that 9216i and 9222i should all have FCIP licenses sold with them. But on IPS blades, you may have a blade in a 9216 or 9500 with no FCIP license. Are you not able to physically bring up an FCIP without a license? Is there any other option? I personally think they should allow you to bring up FCIP with a TTL of 1 or something like that for lab use.

Correct, the 9216i and 9222i should come with the license installed for the built in GE ports. If you add an additional module to slot 1 on either, or to a 95xx platform, then you need the license for that module.

There is a 120 day grace period for the FCIP license. It counts down to 0 days as long as FCIP is enabled. Once it hits 0 days left, FCIP will not work.

TTL of 1 could be used for production environments to by pass the license where the GE ports are on the same subnet.
